The night before i arrived to the “Camp & Plant” gathering
to help build the Grief to Action vision at Holistic Resistance land
in October 2021, i was camping out alone at Joshua Tree.
Drumming by the fire after sunset, I connected with the earth.
The first layer of this song arrived to help
dispel anxiety, ground down, and claim Belonging.

As I continue to remember my place in the web of Life,
I see that kinship and collaboration with Earth
resource us to confront the intensity of grief & liberation work
life on this planet now requires.

I imagine this song to be a circle opening song, a moment of rooting down,
a moment of slowing to Source, so we can join with one another
in ceremony from a place of embodied Wholeness.

The song took on new life for me during an Earthkeeper Wisdom School ritual
designed to honor our grief for the degradation of our planet.
We shared our heartache at the climate crisis, ‘nature deficit disorder,’
the pollution of our waters and the clearcutting of our forests; and on.......
Then we shared our great love for our home.
We sang this song as we opened an earth altar to anchor
our commitment to be in right relationship with life,
and the earth responded with an ecstatic outpouring of wild Love.
