Inspired by this poem, I caught this song early on in my community singing journey.
For me, Rumi perfectly captures this universal longing of the human condition:
we all just want to contribute.

The second part, “believing…. receiving”
came as training wheels to practice and grow faith.
Inspired equally by principles of manifestation and by my Christian roots:
(“And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—
we know that we have what we asked of Him.” 1 John 5:15)
this is an invitation to take responsibility for the power of my mind.

The exuberant chorus of THANK YOU arrived while recording.
It feels so amazing to my body to sing aloud pure gratitude
and let the energy of thankfulness flood my cells, making way for miracles!

Deep bow to the African-American Gospel tradition for these faith-filled chord progressions which have nourished and imprinted my spirit walk so deeply.
