☉ WE ΔRE MOTHER ☉ is a deep well to drink from ancient, divine, feminine Power. (All genders very welcome and needed!) Sing it at lung-top for optimal Remembering. Or sing it hushed, whisper your cells into alignment. Sing it to send supple tendrils from your own womb wisdom into the creation matrix of all Mothers through space-time. Sing it to claim collaboration between the bright and benevolent forces seen and unseen; earth + human + divine, Alive. Sing it to cast a spell of Unconditional Love that breaks yourself and others free from self-imposed and socially-oppressed cages. Sing it to queer our concept of Family, weaving webs of caring kinship far beyond what we were taught and can yet conceive. Blessed Be.

Summer 2022 in the wake of Roe v. Wade overturned, my strong gut response was to grab my drum, head for the trees, and drop root into a source of Love and power so deep and rich and unflinching, ….She who cannot be tamed or tarnished. You cannot legislate the power of my womb. You cannot defame the Holy in me. Sovereign, sacred. This song came through; it was all I wanted to sing. To know it, to be it, to ripple this out. Mother Love.

This truth I first downloaded on May 24, 2006 — seventeen years ago today. Initiation date. I was violently sexually assaulted in my home by a stranger in the middle of the night. I wasn’t raped; but my spirit got pregnant. This interaction planted in me the seed for my prayer of abolition of the prison industrial complex. It birthed in me the essence of my medicine as Priestess.

Instead of complaining about patriarchy, we are building a world of interbeing. We are Mother.

Singing, whether solo or in a circle, is a strong technology for aiming energy in this pursuit. Through attuning with Love and opening into inquiry, we create new grooves for mind/body/spirit. The questions that currently live in me through this song:

What does my womb know?

What new forms are here to be born through me? Through Us?
